Much of the history of the Guatemalan’s civil war that lasted 36 years, was extremely censored. It still is.

The photographer Jean-Marie Simon is one of the only persons who documented this war. She took daily life pictures during the military occupation,  from 1980 to 1987, in small villages.

The name of the collection is especially accurate and inspiring for me. ‘Guatemala, eterna primavera, eterna tiranía’.
